MR. RAW GETS BUSY WITH NEW VIDEO & NEW ALBUM
Mr. Raw is presently working towards releasing his new video Turu Ugo into the market and is also working on his new album which is yet to be titled.
However, he revealed that the album is yet to be titled because he’s still busy working on his younger brother’s album.
According to him, the new act, Hype MC is the last child of his parents.
He also said his new album is still in the making and doesn’t know how many tracks it will carry at the moment. He’s therefore channeling all effort in making sure Hype’s album is released first before thinking about his.
But despite his busy schedule, Mr. Raw is bent on releasing his new video, Turu Ugo before the end of this week. According to him, Turu Ugo is his native song meaning “well done”. The song is a song of encouragement to his fans, family and Nigerians in general, telling them that their effort is recognised.
Here are behind the scene photo shoots of the new video titled "turu ugo" which was shot on location in Ikeja, Lagos. The video was directed by Patrick Ellis with appearances by Minista Busta, Phyno and ransome.

EVA REBRANDS AND CHANGES NAME
PRESS RELEASE
It is with great joy and excitement that Sonorous Singer, Creative Writer, Events Consultant/Manager, soon to be Actress and Public speaker; EVA (D’DIVA) and her team announces to her wonderfully faithful and supportive friends and fans as well as distinguished members of the press and the general public that as a result of personal evolution as well as the maturing state of her multi-faceted brand, she will be dropping the English stage name (EVA) which she has been known for professionally and proudly taking up her native name EVAEZI pronounced ( AY – VAY – ZEE ) meaning ‘A PURE AND HONEST HEART / SOUL’ in the Isoko speaking part of Delta State.
EVA; now EVAEZI who first came on the scene with an afrocentric genre of music through her 2006 hit single ‘NO CRY’ went off the radar for a while following personal issues with paternal uncle; Kingsley Ogoro – one of the most decorated and celebrated film producers and directors in Nigeria till date. She resurfaced with a few more hits, one of which is GOD HAND, earning her 2 nominations in the upcoming 2011 HEADIES AWARDS in the Recording of the Year and Best Female Vocal performance categories along with the likes of Tuface, Asa, Darey, Waje, Ego Obaro and Tiwa Savage.
The extraordinarily gifted Diva who shows off not just the versatility and power of her vocals but the soul in her song writing abilities in her latest release titled “BETTER THAN HER” has made her way to quite a number of Nigerian billboard charts on radio and on TV. She is currently being noticed and identified more than ever as one of Nigeria’s most professionally sought after vocal divas; an amazing feat for someone once involvement in a fatal accident from which she suffered a crushed voice box, a narrowed trachea and a number of fractured cervical bones (bones in the spinal Cord) leaving her dumb and paralysed in 1997.
EVA now called “EVAEZI” admits that it was a bitter sweet step that had to be taken especially since she has been known over the years as EVA. “My music and I are evolving. My sound today is not what it used to be when I first came out in 2006 with ‘NO CRY’, my latest release BETTER THAN HER which is doing REALLY well proves that. I find myself wanting to experiment more… to bridge the gap between the African and the Western… to not stay boxed up. I wanna stay grounded in my roots in terms of identity as I reach for the sky, especially now that I am in talks with interested international distributors. The type of music I do today is AFROCENTRIC in nature but EXPERIMENTAL in pattern. I HATE BEEN PREDICTABLE”.
To assist her in the success of the new brand, EVAEZI formerly known as EVA put together a team comprising of AREGBE IDRIS M.D of Heritage Solutions, producers of SISI OGE – The Pride of Africa pageantry and also CEO of an impressive Africa inspired clothing line called ARANBARA. She also partners with the beautiful Mrs BIMBO BALOGUN, CEO of internationally recognized BIMBEADS CONCEPTS; makers and dealers of elegantly customized accessories. Fast rising photographer and media house – JESSE IMAGES and MURENGE MEDIA as well as budding designer, LEKOBACKS COUTURE were instrumental to the new and improved image of EVAEZI.
“I have always been one to mix the strong, stable richness and depth of the African culture with the ever reforming/experimental nature of the Western world but I had and still have soooo many ideas that I REALLY needed to work with people to keep me grounded and that is where SISI-OGE, BIMBEADS CONCEPTS, LEKOBACKS COUTURES and the likes come in. What they bring to the table in terms of my reformed brand is fresh, unpredictable and simply mind blowing. With their help I was able to be comfortable in my own skin in terms of appearance and professional veracity and versatility.”
EVAEZI is currently working on her album ‘THE CORE OF ME’ with long time friends and producers TEEKAY W’ITTY and WOLE ADESANYA. The album will also feature collabos with the likes of KEFEE, 2SHOTZ, RAW NWANNE, MODENINE, BLAISE, GOLDIE and more. The album is scheduled to be released early October 2011.
No matter the name she adopts or the song she sings… EVAEZI is her own woman who believes in handing out some form of advice or wise counsel about life, love and faith, which she says is never gonna change. She is currently joggling her album project, her events company, the writing of her online fiction series on Jaguda.com called ODIRI, a movie role in an upcoming Nollywood flick, a couple of NGO projects, one of which is the FIGHT AGAINST CANCER and other profound underground projects.
