The Lagos state house of assembly on Thursday urged the Babatunde Fashola-led government to ban “faaji plus”, the recorded live performances of rising musician st. Janet.
The lawmakers led by Mr Segun Agunbiade, who represents Ikorodu constituency 1 urged the government to seize the CDs from marketers and ensure that they were not reproduced. The lawmaker who brought a copy of the CD to the floor, said the songs in it contained lewd & vulgar lyrics and was corrupting children and youths through the use of gospel tunes changed to satisfy the musician’s desire.
The matter which was raised on the floor of the assembly under matters of urgent public importance is still being deliberated upon.
